Snowflake Software demonstrates how customers can get more for less with the launch of their future proof INSPIRE ready technology, saving customers unnecessary costs.
The releases of the company’s two core products provide an out of the box platform for organisations to realise the value of INSPIRE compliance, as well as future proof their existing technology infrastructure and eliminate the threat of unnecessary software development or upgrade costs.
At the conference, where ‘realising the value of place’ was the theme, Snowflake demonstrated the power of its data exchange software by loading Annex 1 INSPIRE data with the latest release of its GO Loader software, which can then be used with a customer’s own existing infrastructure. Conversely, with the new release of its GO Publisher software, Snowflake showcased its capabilities to publish data to final draft INSPIRE data specifications which were released less than a week ago. The latest enhancements to both products have been rigorously tested as part of the EC’s Joint Research Centre INSPIRE testing initiative and both were successfully used by leading organisations across Europe to produce GML 3.2.1 datasets compliant to the Annex 1 Themes.
Eddie Curtis, CTO of Snowflake Software says:
From its very beginnings Snowflake has been a leader in adopting OGC and ISO standards. The engineering work to support INSPIRE and GML 3.2.1 is a natural evolution for our products rather than a revolutionary change. Both GO Loader and GO Publisher have been providing business critical data exchange and management for organisations across Europe working with topographic mapping, transport, geology, meteorology to name just a few types of data. The productivity, performance and experience by those users can now be applied to achieving INSPIRE compliance.
Whilst INSPIRE support is a key feature of the new releases, it is not the only new addition. Experts from Snowflake Software also took the opportunity to unveil the capacity to manage data in a choice of databases, and the opportunity to extend the reach of data by publishing into consumer mapping applications such as Bing™, Yahoo!™ or Google™.
Ian Painter, Managing Director commented:
“We’re excited that our new products will enable organisations across Europe to realise the value of INSPIRE in a pioneering way and starting today. The industry moves at such a pace that it is often costly and resource intensive for companies to embrace innovative and legislative technology. We’re pleased to be able to offer customers the opportunity to get more for less with our future proof software.”
For organisations that require additional support in understanding the complexities of the INSPIRE legislation, Snowflake has a dedicated INSPIRE section on their website and a tailored training programme to help client’s bridge the gap between initiative and implementation.
Existing customers with a valid maintenance and support contract can obtain these new versions at no additional cost through the Snowflake Support Centre. Organisations new to Snowflake’s products can obtain a fully supported 30 day evaluation by registering on the website.
